Thank You as well.... I have been using seperate cPanel accounts and IP's until I found this.
I was surprised with how easy this is to setup, yes it is a hassle to edit a file everytime, but compare that to getting a new IP from your supplier, adding it to cPanel, adding a new account, and setting up the SSL, this takes half the time, I use ConfigServer Explorer which allows me browse and to edit files and launch the apache commands directly in WHM so its takes under 5 mins to add a SSL subdomain now. Fantastic...

Thank you! I've been working a while to find a solution, and this post gave me the last 10% I needed to get SSL working for all my domains on a server with a self-signed shared certificate (for administrative purposes). Now to find a way to automate it...

Oliver... thanks for the comment. Yes, this situation was quite different. What I was attempting to do was beyond what CPanel supports at the moment. I really do hope this solves a lot of people's headaches with similar situations.

Thanks for sharing your fix for this problem, i've not installed a wildcard on a cpanel but i usually use this guide (http://www.ssl247.co.uk/ssl-certificate-csr/cpanel.php) as a basis when installing SSLs. I'll bookmark this though!
